To honor our Green Beret Veterans and assist in maximizing the funds raised for this important cause, The McKee Foundation, Rehab Garage, and The Advantage Heroes Foundation have come together to restore and theme a 1995 Jeep YJ Wrangler, chosen for its broad appeal, availability, and unique history with the U.S. Armed Forces.

In 1940, when it became clear that the United States would be involved in the European theatre of World War II, the U.S. Army contacted 135 companies to create working prototypes of a four-wheel-drive reconnaissance car. Only two companies responded: American Bantam Car Company and Willys-Overland. Prior to 1940 the term "jeep" had been used as U.S. Army slang for new recruits but was also used to refer to the light and versatile 4x4 that was produced specifically for the U.S. military, just before World War II. The Willy’s Jeep went into production in 1941, making it the oldest four-wheel drive mass-production vehicle. At $648/unit, it became the primary light 4-wheel-drive vehicle of the United States Army and the Allies, during World War II, as well as the postwar period. The term became common worldwide in the wake of the war, as the first civilian Jeeps were launched in 1945 and became the personification of Yankee ingenuity and can-do determination.

The restoration began on May 8th, with a deadline of September 14th.  The team will open raffle ticket sales starting in July and give each of you a chance to win this fantastic vehicle. Please follow this page as updates will be posted every two weeks throughout the process.
